I"M HERE TO UPDATE!

Yes according to dictionary.com, to update simply means to bring (a book, figures) up to date, as by adding new information.

After i turned OLDER on 3rd jan, i received a few belated presents, yes Zoey i love love love your present (: it is one of the most meaningful bdae present i had in my life.

12 Jan, went to Townsville Pri to collect my edusave and bursary (:



17,18 Jan met up with Jan, Yvfynn, Teng and James for presentation preparation at CDC. Received a not so pleasant news on Wed. Fell sick on Friday after Physic remedial. Homoeostasis was not working and temperature didn't went back to normal. Had to endure during the rehearsal and went home and ate dinner at 9pm.

19 Jan, MY First Break Presentation to the council members. Went on quite ok. Can see that between the 3 of us, i think i put in the least effort, cause i didn't even rewrite my lines, i went to cut and paste it. And thanks a lot a lot to those that came to support us. Went to Changkat Changi Sec, and east point. Sang Bdae song to my bro.

Attended my 小舅母's wake in the evening.
I was actually very worried for 'ah jie4' and peijeng.

Those few days are considered one of the most difficult to go through days in Jan...

22 Jan, Had MFB alumni meeting. Haha i was the latest to reach there lah...so paiseh, everyone waited for me to start the meeting. Sorry guys....

23 Jan. Went to visit doctor after CCA. I thought i could have won the 'self-cure' process, but cause next week will be CNY, if i want to consume those irresistible goodies, i had to recover to eat them. 1 day MC!

24Jan. Though a 1 Day MC is granted, but i had to go to school to collect my Olevels MT results. So in the end i went to school at 11am. Had a good sleep though.

26Jan. My cousin Peiling's Wedding (she got married on 25jan)!!! Haha the food was rather delicious!
Met up with MFB people for dinner at Bugis after the wedding. (FYI, it is not a wedding dinner, it was wedding lunch) Glad to see them (:
27 Jan. Meet up with Shi Xuan to do podcast. HAHA quite cool leh! i mean you record your own podcast! we had a good time laughing after listening to our beautiful voices.

3 Feb. GREAT EXPERIENCED (: Helped out at Pipit Road/Cicuit Road area with the FOOD SAMARAITAN project initiated by HCI last week. (this is random, but the team that initiated this project consist of i guess all girls and 1 guy, and ALL the hwachong girls are all from CEDAR! includes evelyn, haha, i feel so proud of them!)HCI, together with Southeast CDC and NTUC fairprice provided around 1000 packages of food and 700 packages of non-food for the low-income and elderly in the area. The bag contains food like biscuits, milk, rice, sardine, canned curry chicken, mandrains, sweet potatoes, etc. And non-food includes dish washing liquid, detergent (clothes and floor), sponges, toothbrushes. We were suppose to pack the food packages and after that distribute to the elderly in the blks.

For us, These necessities are easily purchased from the supermarkets and are considered 'cheap' in our eyes. However, when the elderly received the bags, you will feel the satisfaction and gratitude they have. What turns my heart sour is the living conditions of the elderly there. OK, i admit i'm considered some stuck up teen which doesn't even know this kind of situation exist in singapore and longed to live in big big houses. The elderly are mostly living in 1 or 2 room flat. With only a kitchen and a living room. Yah, i feel so heartache whenever they open their doors and i see the conditions inside.

One uncle was sitting on the wheel chair and it was very inconvenient to move around, i really really pray hard that he's not living alone. I saw his bed in the living room and keep saying thank you to us.

Another auntie told us his husband had a stroke and was bedridden. She keep thanking us, and wish us all the best in our studies. Her husband was on the bed, keep on waving to us to show his gratitude.

Then i saw a video on Youtube uploaded by one of the HCI student. No offence but it was hilarious. But whoever that person is, i really wanna say that you rock! cause you tried your very very best to help that auntie, and guess what? i learnt someth from it! I learnt that is it so damn important to explain the things inside the bags to the elderly, which we did not do so at all. I mean some of them dun understand EL and CL, unless there's illustration, most likely they wont understand how to use the things that are given(esp the non-food). And our purpose is to benefit them, if they dun even know what we give them, will they even use it? The video just portrayed that the elderly have no idea what some of the stuffs are, and only after explaining in dialect then they understand. Oh wells, once again. I learn to be satisfied and treasure what i have (:

and haha, i appeared on TV for 2 seconds. Oh forgot to specify, is 'my butt' that appeared on TV for 2 sec. Daphne's FACE then appeared for 3 sec. HAHA
5 Feb. CNY recess with 4Heroes!!! OMG, my love for the class seemed to be accelerating! HAHA, and i'm really thankful for the teachers that went down to our mini celebration. And of course Astika for the pizzas!

6 Feb. CNY celebrations! I was the Games Emcee! HAHA, very fun!!!!!!! 1st time to be emcee for 8mins(diao) in front of school. Very fun being emcee, cause Cedarians reactions are just too funny! I mean i couldn't stop showing the shocked face when the cameraman threw the ball towards them. I have to thank ALL CL members for helping in many many many ways for CNY. The list of names is just too long. Every single one of you all plays a part! Do you know how worried i was for the backdrop. Glad everyth's over. HAHA

7,8,9,10 Feb. CNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time for a good rest! (:

I had a great time struggling on a few of the days in Jan.
Life is like a roller coaster. With ups and downs. Imagine a roller coaster which has straight railways, isn't it going to be so boring and unexciting? Just like life, i believe that it is the ups and downs that make it more meaningful. Unless you aimed to live a boring life (:
