School camp cut short after 50 students hit by food poisoning SINGAPORE : Fifty students came down with food poisoning, cutting short a school camp on Friday. Starting on Wednesday, the annual Secondary 3 camp for some 300 Cedar Girls' Secondary School students at Labrador Adventure Camp was supposed to end on Sunday.

Composition of the day: Something Unexpectedly Happened

i was rather excited about OAC cause i dun feel very homesick after LTC :D So i sacrifice my sleep and woke up at around 5am so that i can take shi xuan's father's car at 6.10am.

Day 1 :)
Reported in school, then took the bus to LAC.

Act 1: Class Interaction/Campfire Songs
Weather: Sunny :)
We played many many games and bonded well. At first we cheered very softly but after several games we start to feel the 'heat' and enjoyed ourselves. Played Singing chairs? (the one we had to sit on each other and endure), double wacko, jacobs ladder. Yulia was damn funny when she turn, so i was laughing crazyly, then i saw mr ang doing breakdance as forfeit for 3A.

After that we sang camfire songs and Mr. Chai and Mr. Ang did the cannibal King together. Imagine them doing...: Ahroom muack muack, ahroom muack muack, ahroom doladoley....

then it was lunch i can't remember what we ate, but i guess it tasted awful cause i couldn't really finish it.

Act 2:Low Elements/Games
Weather: bad....Rain :(
I was dying to play LE with H1 cause i really enjoyed it during LTC, it was very very fun @ every station. So i was rather sad that we had to stay in the hall to play games again. But it was rather fun although the instructors tried their best to drag the 4 hours. i love jacobs ladder :) cause i like it. HAHA oh yah during the catch my tail game i caught leader Annabella's bandana! yays of course i was violent cause i pulled her shirt.

Act3: Dinner, Night Walk, Shower
Weather: Drizzling :(
Had kitchen duty but didn't have the chance to serve :( i wanna serve and say: enjoy your meal. Anyway i remembered the food rocks cause i was staring at my bowl and stoning.

However...we ate Mango pudding, which was suspected of being the cause of a few cases of food poisoning. Firstly the pudding tasted nice to me, cause i had always love mango pudding. So i finish it with 2 spoonfuls. Then my classmates were saying why the bottom have black black stuff...i was like eeewww....so they think it was mould. but mine doesn't have so i was lucky lah. Then there was a few extra cups of pudding left so i ate 1more. And the 2nd one tasted like SHIT. yes, like rotten food. but cannot waste food so i just force it down. But i still didn't have stomachache or diarrhea...

Then it was night walk at Kent Ridge Park. First time there, quite a peaceful and nice place though. Was with H1 and the guide was very nice. Ended the walk early and enjoyed aircon in the bus. Shower rocks when i manage to finish showering in 3mins+. cause i have a method of wearing shorts and wrap my top with the towel,then go to the toilet and change. HAHA it that gross?

Debrief was boring when that drag for very very long, had nightcap and didn't brush our teeth cause dun have enough time, so we just rinse our mouth.

Then inst. Layeng came and called 4 of us to go see ms poon. i was like, shit, we're dead. Then we were suppose to arrange the bowls and cups properly and the table must be of the same height...so troublesome but we can't complain in front of her right? And i just wanna finish it fast and go to bed. So we step in the dorm 30mins later and almost the whole class was still awake. haha

Couldn't really sleep well the 1st day....

Day2 :))
Weather: Still raining :(
Dorm check. Troublesome. No choice. Had PT, it was slack compared to LTC, so it's a good thing, cause i always feel like vomiting after PT. Breakfast was Bread+Margarine+Milo+Apple! An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but if the doctor is handsome, throw the apple away! There isn't any doctor so we had to eat it.

Act 4:Tower
Weather: Rain...VERY SAD!
To me, no LE is already a big blow, and now no Tower. Means no abseil, no rockwall, no ZIPLINE! and had to stay in MPH again...However, the leaders and inst. allowed us to do the acts in the rain when it gets lighter!! YAYs! So we get to try zipline and rockwall! however.....grace want us to go according to descending order, means I'll be the last one :( Anyway only 5 of us got to try...so no more zipline! BOO! i missed it both LTC and OAC :( Rockwall, rain starts to get heavier so only 2 people gets to climb, it's ok i tried during LTC :D played game suggested by inst. kw.(kor woong, not kiwi) to say 4 statements, 3 lies 1 truth. and i took the opportunity to praise my bro. LOL dots cause i can't really think of anyth to say.

Lunch. can't remember what we eat, i guess is nasi lemak.

Act 5: Labrador Challenge
Weather: Rain.... ):
I had Fun with H1!!! i think we rock, though we didn't manage to complete all the tasks. The teachers and pple were all very nice! inst. kw, ella+Ass C. was with us too. i like our bread :) then we had to find the rock that can echo...so i still dun get what they want lah...Waited for the bus and sang lots of songs to kill time. i love the...:

Reach back Campsite 30mins late due to bus, so everyth was pushed back. Anyway HA have the same schedule so we always have the same fate lah.

Act 6: shower,Dinner,CI & CF Prep, Knots + Lashings
Weather:Can't remember
Something very very embarrassing happened during shower. Nobody know. I shall tell everyone 10years later :D Dinner had toufu!!!! i love to eat toufus!! (sounds wrong but nvm) But the kitchen duty person gave me 8 toufus which is too much. Yet hong have more than me lah. HAHA, then there was cocktail, which tasted rather nice too :)

CI+ CF, everyone gave opinions on OAC. i said i look forward to the rest of the days cause u know trip sci class, i guess after camp we will just study again, so must treasure the time. Then i said the leaders and inst. were very nice(as compared to LTC) but i still dun greet them in the early morning, cause nobody will greet. Haha. We learned the TITANIC song, which i thought it rocks. Knots & lashings were almost the same as LTC. i forgot all my knots and lashings le....feel so paiseh.

Debrief was not so dragging...grace was being praised ^^Didn't have night cap, and went to sleep....ZzZzZz

And it was Day 3:)))!
when 3H woke up at 4.45am!
Weather: NOT RAINING ANYMORE!!!! :))))))
Dorm check was ok, PT abit more tiring but suppose to make us alive though. Breakfast as usual...

Act7: CRUISE! (1st time in my life)
Weather: SUNNY!
Woohoo! at last sunblock is useful.though no one applied i guess. if only there's someth called rain block...Anyway i was rather scared that i will get seasick, cause last time i sat the slow slow ferris wheel at escape and i already felt dizzy. Lousy....haha but i was ok lah, when i found someone like melissa who seemed more blur and dizzy than me. We reached Kusu island! And we went to some temples and saw loads of tortoises!! and a monintor lizard too! i was sort of determine to have tortoise as pet :D

Went back to campsite, when everyone was actually sleeping soundly..awww...see how tired we are. i didn't sleep though cause i scared i will feel like vomiting cause i see a few stars above me.

I dunoe what happen. i was just confused. There was food, but we weren't eating. Then everyone cheered and i realize we are ordering pizza for lunch. Then mrs ouyang came. I didn't sense anyth, cause i thought mrs ouyang wanna see how we are enjoying ourselves. didnt know it was bcoz....haiz

So while we happpily enjoyed our lunch, and looking forward to our next act High elements....

Chief told us to go back our dorm, pack all of our things, clean the dorm, and meet at MPH. i was shock, are we going home? are we camping in school? What happened?

3H was the first class to arrive. After that mrs ouyang came.
We ARE going back. Back Home. i was like OMG. We have no say for this decision as there are millions of factors for us to break camp at that moment. No use carry on when 1/3 of the sch might be gone on day5.

3H spent our last moment of the camp on bus, singing together. We thank our instructors: Kor Woong, Ella, Ameera, Jasmine. For their efforts and accompanying us for the past 3days.

Without a last gathering with the others campers and leaders we break camp. Without having the feeling to go home. Without the feeling of homsick.

3D2N camp ended. Just the same duration as LTC.
But due to the rain, i didn't get to try: HE, LE, Tower
Due to the food poisoning, i didn't get to try: field cooking, Orienteering, heritage trial,water rocket & lastly CAMPFIRE.

i have to 'salute' the instructors, for putting their efforts in the camp. Especially the understudies, you all rock. We all can see how much effort, time you all had spent sleeping only for 2-3 hrs a day without complaining. Campers we are lucky so stop complaining. This year the leaders and inst. were definitely very very nice. OAC is nth like military camp.

And did i mention we never see our form teacher at all.
I hope our class has bonded well, as i guess life would be the same when school reopens.

i enjoyed the short time we had, but i long for the 2 days we missed to come again. though i only teared for a few mins, i guess everyone has to carry on.
